Cityscapes - with Rowena Fry

Tuesday 30 September<br>Afternoon Session <br>1:00 pm to 4:00 pm <br><br>All Materials Provided<br><br>Channel your inner architect and create fanciful cityscapes using found-object printing. Make one-of-a-kind prints by rolling ink onto everyday objects, from kitchen spatulas to broken calculators( thanks to our friends at the Tip Shop), then print them onto paper. Find unique shapes in the prints, then cut out and collage them into a creative cityscape. Add colour with paint, pencil, and pen.

The Ins and Outs of Weaving - With Daisey Bingham and Junko Moritz

Thursday 25 September<br>Afternoon Session <br>1:00 pm to 4:00 pm <br><br>All Materials Provided<br><br>Explore the joys of two different types of weaving, kumihimo, the traditional Japanese cord making, and branch weaving. Use a kumihimo disk to make a friendship bracelet or a fancy cord for your favourite hoodie. Make a one-of-a-kind loom from a branched stick. Use the loom to experiment with colours and textures to create a unique weaving.

Build layers of collaged materials onto a card base to create a highly textured printing plate. Explore using wax in your collagraph as an excellent way to create surface marks. Experiment with enhancing a collagraph print with other printmaking techniques, like intaglio, monoprint, and relief printmaking. Be surprised by the fun and unique possibilities collagraph printmaking has to offer!

Magic in the Ordinary: pen and watercolour sketchbook - with Andrew James

Andrew James presents how to keep an illustrated journal in pen and watercolour. No subject matter is off-limits.<br><br>In this fun and encouraging class, we'll learn how to draw moments from our lives in our sketchbooks and then bring those sketches to life with watercolour. The first week is an introduction to the wonderful world of watercolour, and each following week, we will look at different genres of sketchbook drawing, taking a page from one of Andrew's books and learning to create your version of it.<br><br>Andrew takes the course in the direction the class dictates, making each term of this course different and fresh. <br><br>Some genres covered include:<br>- Interior scenes - bathrooms, lounges, kitchens<br>- Collections of objects - like kids' toys, tools or <br>- Food and drink. Subscriptions are paid annually at the start of the calendar year, and drop by half near the 1st of July.
